First, this is a church. That means that we are primarily concerned
with how we should live, individually and collectively, so that we might become better people, partners, parents and citizens.
We seek, in many different ways, for values worth living by - or to put it in theological language, for gods worth serving
with our lives.
We welcome
all persons who has an interest in the Cantheist belief.
Our
Mission is to encourage and provoke the Divine in each of us to flower in its own unique way and to provide community outreach
programs that will benefit our neighbors and community at large.
We promote the religious rights and freedoms
of individuals in the church. This includes the right to use sacraments such as Cannabis for spiritual awakening or for spiritual
and physical healing. As has been used throughout the ages as described in the Holy Bible.
Throughout history, churches often started as very small groups, but in time they
grew as the congregation grew. Free Life Ministry
would like to be one of those churches that is looked back upon as a trend setter of our time. Just as the early churches
that where persecuted for not following the tenets of Rome; remember the crusades? We are being persecuted for believing that
God created cannabis to be used by man as a Holy Sacrament as described throughout the Holy Bible.
Cantheism, also Kantheism, is a modern term
for religions based on the inherent goodness of the cannabis plant. Adherents are known as cantheists or cannabists. Cantheism
neither endorses nor discriminates against any other church, faith, or system of belief. The Free Life Ministry is a church of like minded
individuals who believe:
That
God is our Father and that we are all, the entire human race, one spiritual family and that there are as many paths to God
as there are people to walk them.
That Cannabis is a Holy Sacrament from times of antiquity.
This
unifier of religious thought allows us to draw upon the broad scope of human religious experience in the determination of
the form our religious practice takes.
We draw upon many religious texts, including the Holy Bible, and many
others to establish and verify our religious practices.
Churches have common elements in differing attributes,
such as but not limited to; religious text, religious practices, religious symbols and religious rituals.
If
you choose to be a member of our church you are very welcome to do so. Our God is no respecter of persons nor are we.
We strongly and aggressively protect our members right to grow and use Gods' Holy Healing plants of all varieties
as described in the Bible.
We also protect their right to not use as they choose.
Cantheology: Philosophical Roots
Cantheism neither endorses nor discriminates against any other church, faith,
or system of belief. Anyone may incorporate Cantheism into their current religious persuasion, so long as they adhere to the
Creed.
Many of the world's great religions have used Cannabis sacramentally and ceremonially, including but
not limited to:
Animism: Belief that all things have sentient spirits, and some versions assert that Cannabis
has the power to cross the line between the mental and the spiritual worlds. Popular in Africa and pre-Columbian America.
Biblical Judeo-Christian-Muslim religions, including Coptic Christianity and Rastafari: Genesis 1:29-31; Ezekiel
34:29; Isaiah 18:4-5; Rev. 22:1-2. Sacred spliff.
Egyptians: Smoke Eaters at the Temple at Thebes, incense, mortality
rituals.
Hinduism: Sadhu, ganja, chillum, spiritual and physical healing, smoking cloth. Includes the mystical
interpretation of Cannabis healing powers via Ayurvedic practices.
Pygmy and other African religions: Mound smokers,
animism, the spirit of plants and nature, the breath of the gods.
Scythianism: Smoking huts, hemp labor, cannabis
purification rituals.
Shamanism: Use of all herbs in mystical pursuit of the infinite.
Sufi Muslims:
Use cannabis to reach an ecstatic state.
Zoroastrianism: Use cannabis to communicate with god on high for mystical
consciousness and personal enlightenment.
