 Our Mission

The mission of the Free Life Ministry is to encourage and provoke the Divine in each of us to flower in its own unique way and to provide community outreach programs that will benefit out neighbors and community at large.

The Free Life Ministry promotes communing with the Divine and communing with the Divine in everyone and everything.

The Free Life Ministry is also a voice in society, providing rational viewpoints about important and controversial subjects.

The Free Life Ministry promotes the religious rights and freedoms of individuals in the ministry. This includes the right to use sacraments such as Cannabis for spiritual awakening or for spiritual and physical healing.

Statement of Beliefs

We, at the Free Life Ministry, Inc., are a Cantheist Church that believes that we are all spirits in bodies, seeking and discovering our own personal truth in our own unique way.

For many of us, that truth is found through Jesus Christ, Buddha or The Divine.

For a large number of our members, it is found through Pagan Gods and Goddesses, while still others find their truth through examining life and the experiences we all have.

All of these paths and more are welcomed and explored.

We value all the viewpoints of our ministers and congregation, however varied and controversial they might be.

We believe in religious freedom, as long as it does not infringe on the rights of others and is within the law.

We welcome any who seek truth, wisdom and tolerance.

We use teaching material from a variety of sources, the Bible included, as wisdom is found in many places and people each hear it in different ways.

Through our ministry, we explore many faiths and belief systems and seek to understand the universal truths that each of these contain.

Cantheist Code

I will share my faith, but not be obnoxious about it.

I will not betray anyone for acting in accordance with these beliefs,
whether or not they ascribe to the Cantheist faith.

We pray for our oppressors, and work for a better world.

Cantheist Creed

I believe that Cannabis Sativa, L. is the useful cane and the true hemp.

I believe that Cannabis Hemp is a restorative natural resource for all humanity to grow, share, and use for our fundamental needs. Therefore, I shall honor its existence.

I believe that the Cannabis plant is endowed with important healing powers, some of which cannot yet be explained. Therefore I shall offer it to ease the suffering of others.

I recognize cannabis as a sacrament within my community. Therefore I shall receive it with thanksgiving and deep respect for its resinous powers.

The cultivation and dissemination of cannabis are honorable professions. Therefore I shall act with absolute integrity and honesty* to protect the Cantheist community and its values.

* Note: The Christian Bible states that "the truth shall set ye free" and "render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's and to God the things that are God's", therefore a Cantheist cannot lie or perjure themselves in a court of law because it violates both "the truth" and "the things that are Caesar's", namely the courts.

The Holy Anointing Oil

Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying, Take thou also unto thee the chief spices: of flowing myrrh five hundred shekels, and of sweet cinnamon half so much, even two hundred and fifty, and of sweet calamus two hundred and fifty, and of cassia five hundred, after the shekel of the sanctuary, and of olive oil a hin. And thou shalt make it a holy anointing oil, a perfume compounded after the art of the perfumer: it shall be a holy anointing oil. And thou shalt anoint therewith the tent of meeting, and the ark of the testimony, and the table and all the vessels thereof, and the candlestick and the vessels thereof, and the altar of incense, and the altar of burnt-offering with all the vessels thereof, and the laver and the base thereof. And thou shalt sanctify them, that they may be most holy: whatsoever toucheth them shall be holy. And thou shalt anoint Aaron and his sons, and sanctify them, that they may minister unto me in the priest's office.

In the New Testament, Jesus baptizes none of his disciples, as is practiced by the Catholic church, but anoints them with this potent entheogenic oil, sending out the 12 apostles to do the same. “And they went out, and preached that men should repent. And they cast out many demons, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them”.

Mark 6:12-13 (ASV)

Likewise, after Jesus’ passing, James suggests that anyone of the Christian community who was sick should call to the elders to anoint him with oil in the name of Jesus.

James 5:14 (ASV)

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, Because he anointed me to preach good tidings to the poor: He hath sent me to proclaim release to the captives, And recovering of sight to the blind, To set at liberty them that are bruised.
